I live in Louisiana and have for two plus years, my wife and I are in the process of a divorce and she took my son to New Jersey before our custody hearing. My question is If the Louisiana courts give me custody will New Jersey honor the court order and help me get my son back?? This is a very important question as I am afraid that if they don't I may never see my son again!

If the Louisiana court grants you custody then New Jersey will have to honor that judgment. States must give "full faith and credit" to child custody judgments of other states.

I hope that is true because I am getting a lot of people saying that the likely hood of Jersey assisting me with picking him up is slim to none. Thanks Lester.

NJ won't assist you unless you work through their court system and show them that you have a custody judgment from LA. You may have to hire an NJ lawyer to help you with this.
