I've Been unemployed for a Bit and forced too go on GA in order to make ends meet. Now i lost everything in a fire back in 2007 including my vehicle. Now i've been looking for work for two yearslocally as i have no way to travel anywhere, and no money to pay for rides or taxis. my point is I've checked all place's within reason.
GA want a certain number of hours per weak of job searches;there are only so many places.
I'm a diabetic also. they said i did not do enough looking and santioned me.
We went too court and they said i had to make there searchrequirement minimem of thirty hours per weak by the next scheduled appointment. That was on the 27th of july and on august sixteenth I was too have 60 hours of job search to be in compliance, I've done that now the case worker that one more weak, that was not what we agreed too in court. first of i'm not sure you can sanction a diabetic as i think thats a disability under A.D.A. Either way I've held up my part now they are reneging on there part. This thru job services who are supposed too to call and have my benefits turned turned on. Welcome to New jersey where those who've paid in all there lives too the system catch slack and those new to the system get it all. without issue's.
For the record I'm a 46 year old male and have worked all my life and paid my tax's,(yes i can prove it). Either way i don't know where to turn with GA, legal aid is questionable as they are hesitant to help in any way. Like i said just venting.
