I was cited twice within 12 months 20 years ago for driving without insurance and driving while suspended (administrative suspension from failure to pay surcharges from previous DWI). I would like to find a lawyer to resolve these cases, one in Somerset county and one in Middlesex county. If the officer(s) who cited me are now retired will that effect the case? Will I be able to negotiate a reduced charge or have the case dismissed? I'd like to resolve this and get my NJ license again. I can pay all fines at the time of disposition, I'd like to be able to avoid any suspension though.
