I want a divorce but what about my inheritance?

I've been unhappily married for the last 4 years to someone that I thought I knew. Before we got married everything was fine. But after marriage and 3 children the person that I knew is no longer the same person. The relationship has become very toxic and I no longer want to be married to this person.

I would like to know what affect a divorce will have on property and money that I inherited. I was given property in the carribean when my father died before my marriage. I then inherited a large some of money after a relative died after I was married. So my question is: If I as for a divorce will my wife be able to claim half of my property that I inherited before the marriage and half of the money that I inherited after the marriage?

It is a tricky problem and depends on the current income of both spouses and other factors too. You may need to see a lawyer and get better answers.
