View Full Version : Disorderly Conduct/Misdemeanor
Is a disorderly conduct charge a misdemeanor in NJ?
I have a DC on my record and an application wants to know if I have in the past 7 years been charged with a Felony/Misdemeanor and need to know how to answer.
Thanks

NJ doesn't classify offenses as misdemeanors. Offenses are classifed as disorderly, petty disorderly, fourth degree, third degree, second degree and first degree. Therefore you will probably have to answer yes. However, you can probably have the offense expunged but that will take a few months.

How long would I have to wait for an expungment for a disorderly conduct charge. I was charged in November of 2007.
And I should disclose this on an application that wants to know if I was charged with Felony/misdemeanor?

Due to the very somber nature of criminal defense law and because few people qualify for a court appointed attorney at public expense, it's probably in your best interest to hire a criminal defense (http://www.jasonhreecelaw.com) lawyer. Is this true?
