I am a newly single mom. I am currently unemployed on medicaid and will be applying for WIC tomorrow. I was told that I can recieve a NJ attorney to help me apply for my child support but i havent been able to get any information on how to do it. I already have the hotline number & have gone to the social services department but they tell me to go to the county courthouse where i am told they arent legally allowed to discuss anything with me. I need help ASAP please contact me by email or on this thread. my email is Jerseytay@hotmail.com
thank you for your time

usually you don't need a lawyer for this. You simply fill out certain forms at the court house and they will go after the father. You need to speak to someone in the "Family part" of the superior court and they will help you. If you speak to anyone else they may not know what to do & tell you they can't discuss anything.
