i had a previous post---'complications after stent'----have contacted Medical Malpractice lawyers----
basically--i had a stent inserted into my heart on 7/23/08----during recovery, the male nurse applied an inordinate amount of pressure to the puncture site-the femoral artery- so much so that i screamed in pain---wanted tosee a dr.---all to no avail--he said he had to apply heavy pressure for 45 min.--i think i passed out from the pain and the medication---this was the first time i ever had any pain in my foot/leg------
since then--the dr.s found a complete blockage in the femoral artery at the puncture site---which i just had an endarterectomy on----
as stated , i never had a problem walking or any foot pain--but have been unable to walk properly and am in constant pain(they call it rest pain) --have been disabled--unable to work for the past year----
at this point, i have contacted 3-4 law firms and basically--the lawyers say--i need a medical professional to say 'the male nurse pressing caused the blockage'---
my doctors say--the blockage was in an unusual location and it LOOKS like it may have been from the puncture---none have told me that 'it was resultant from the nurse pressing'.
i guess my questions are:1) how do i find out if this pressing can result in a blockage????
2)Is this possible?? 3) Does anyone know if there is a medical institution/professional i could ask??
4) Is there a lawyer or law firm that i could ask and get some help---
it seems that these med. malpractice lawyers only want 'sure-win cases'
LASTLY---could anyone please give me some direction-- i.e. should i be looking to medical resources to find the plausability of the arguement? or should i be looking for attorneys--if so what specialty??
thank you
