I moved to sussex county in 2005 to stay close to my sons father. (We were never married.) Recently he moved over 100 miles away, and now only sees our son 4 days a month. ( every other weekend) It use to be 3 days a week until he moves. I have to drive 35 minutes to drop my son off on fridays, and then pick him up again on sundays. My husband and I have a 5 1/2 month old now. Its just starting to be to much. Am I in any way required to HAVE to do this since he was the one who moved far away?

Also my sons father has joint custody. He doesnt give him the best balance of diet, and he certainly has not been great with medical decsions. For example in 2005 my son had a cold. It was a wends and he took our son to the doctor without me knowing. Took him to a doctor outside who he would normally see knowing my son had a doctors appointment the next day. The doctor he took him too gave him a prescription that made him VERY sick. I PROVIDE MEDICAL COVERAGE AS WELL. In Jan 2006 he met my husband and he was sick this time as well. My husbadn called me and said he was very sleepy and not acting like hismelf. When they got home my husband my son was saying he was cold nad he was SOOOOO RED we took his temp and it s was 105. We rushed him right to the ER. My sons father is in the medical field to and i feel he should have know better.

Recently my sons been coming hom throwing up after almost every visit. When I called his dad he said that he ate PEANUT BUTTER all weekend. When i asked what else he had he said nothing thats all he ate. One time he was up throwing up so bad we rushe dhim tot he hospital cause he said he daddy gave him blue medication and we have no idea what he was tlaking about and he pointed at a bottle of windex that was on top of our medication cabinet in our bathroom.

Can I file for full custody with him living so far away, and the things that has happend. Also my husband and myself are looking to move to PA will I have a problem with that since his dad moved so far away, or does that play in out favor?

Now my son will be attending pre-school in sept. I want to file for more child support ot help pay for it but wasnt sure if that counts towrds child support. Also his wife works, and someone told me here income would count towards the amount for child support. I am currently a stay at home mom but I am planning on going back to work once my son starts school. my husbdna mkes jut enough money to cover the bills. I never went and asked for more money after we bought our home or anything we only had the bi-yearly increase.

I hope to hear from you soon..

Thank you for you time for me this is REALLY greatly appreciated as I have been lost and confused for weeks on what to do.

Does your son's father live in NJ or in a different state?

Your son's father's wife's income can be used to increase your child support payments. Also, if you or him moves to a different state the child support payments will not be affected. Most states have agreements to enforce existing child support order from ther states. You should check out this website: http://www.njchildsupport.org/

As for the windex incident, I would immediately call DYFS. My friend works for DYFS and she said that if you called them they would open a case and investigate the situation. Your child's safety should be your first priority and I think DYFS can help you here.
