I had an ATV accident that left me in the Hospital for 9 day's
a wheel chair for 4 weeks and crutches for 2 weeks.
I just started PT today and am doing fine.
When I went in ,I had 4 broken bones (both acesitobins(spelling),pelvis, and tailbone).
As it goes in the hospital they were pushing to get me out of there in 3 days(something about insurance company dosent pay after 3 days?????)
So they were trying to teach me to get from the bed to a wheel chair. After an hour ,I was in the chair.
They decided I couldent get back in the bed the way I got out so they figured they would pick me up.There was a sheet on the chair so they decided they could pick the sheet up and it would be like a seat.
2 people would lift the sheet and 1 would lift my legs.
I BEGGED them not to do it ,I pleaded with them.
Well they did it anyway and of course the plan dident work.
I fell out of the sheet, and of course the person holding my legs dident let go.
The pain was worse then the original accident.
Well after that they got me on the bed and I told them I think something else broke.
They said eveything was ok and that was that.
A couple weeks after I get out of the hospital I have more X-RAYS done to see how it's healing and I now have 5 brakes. The right side Aceitobin has 2 brakes.
My question is...what do I do about it , can anything be done??
Who should I contact about it?
Thanks for any info

What a bunch of idiots at the hospital. I have been in the health care business for a long time and I see incompetence all the time.

First, I would get your medical records from the hospital and that includes any MRI's or xrays that were taken when you were admitted. They have to give records to you if you request them. Also, write down everything you can remember so you don't forget....especially the names of those idiots who dropped you. If you don't write this stuff down you may forget. Also keep any paperwork the hospital gave you.

Contact a personal injury lawyer asap. Try to fond one with experience in hospital negligence/malpractice. You can call the Atlantic County Bar Association at 609-345-3444 to find a lawyer.

I think you may have a good lawsuit.

I dont remember thier names but I do remember the date and time.
I figure it wont be hard to get the names because it was the PT nurse for the day.
Not that it matters but Heres more to the story.....
after They got me in the chair(before the fall) they left me there for atleast an hour.
I couldent move,I was stuck there in the sitting sloutched over position ,in pain,
Hello remember me with the broken hips, pelvis, and back.
So I was finally able to get to the call buzzer and they called the PT nurse back.
Then they argued over who's job it was to get me back in the bed.The PT nurse who got me in the chair in the first place dident want to get me out of it.It was nuts just hearing all that
Thanks for the info

You definitely have a case here. Find a lawyer asap. You will be doing society a favor by suing because those imbeciles that hurt you don't belong in a health care facility.

Keep us updated....thanks
