There is this woman at my office that is accusing some of her coworkers, including myself, of making statements - which are all totally untrue. This girl is nuts and is taking things that we discuss in every day conversations, flipping them around and making them into remarks directed towards her. I have handed my resignation in at this job, about to start a new career and I feel that she is doing this on purpose to try and get me fired. The issue with that is I am going to another company that is part of ours, so if I get written up or fired, I will not be able to get this job. We were told by our manager that we are going to have an 'intervention' with her to try and solve this problem. I want to know if there is any type of complaint I can file against this girl for making these false and totally untrue statements. The things she is saying are ridiculous and the best part is, they were never said! Please help me!

Well, you could always sue her for defamation. However, you should be documenting everything including what was said and dates and times. Make sure your employer is fully aware of what is going on. Your employer will be liable too if they know what is going on but won't do anything. Hopefully, you will go to your new job without any problem. However, if she causes you trouble you can definitely sue her for defamation and sue your employer for negligence for not controlling the situation.
