My child's parent is not paying child support and has no job, property or assets. What should I do?

You should call the NJ Child Support hotline at 1-800-621-5437 and maybe they can help you make the deadbeat pay. If that does not help and you can't pay you bills then you should apply for public assistance. I have known single mothers who get Section 8 housing, Meicare, WIC, Foodstamps, Welfare etc and live very comfortably....probaly more comfortable than many who work.

I was always taking my ex to court for not paying and I can tell you from experience that the court will huff & puff but they won’t take action. I figure she owes me about $20,000.00 in arrears and I can’t even get her drivers license suspended. The good news is my niece couldn’t collect from her ex and she went on Medicaid and the courts hounded the hell out of her ex. He finally moved to Florida to get away from NJ courts and the federal government still goes after him because they’re paying the bills. It’s unfair but that’s how it is.
