View Full Version : OVERTIME LAW
I work for a non-profit company. Over 10 years, 11.5 hour day, 2 different departments, 1 paycheck. Employer claims because of the 2 different departments where i work, i cannot receive overtime payment. Is this legal and how can i file a complaint?
Also employer refuses to tell me how many sick/vacation days i have left in a year.

All you have to do is call the NJ Dept of Labor and tell them the story. They will get to the bottom of it and will give your employer hell at the same time. I have first hand knowledge of this as I was on the receiving end of the Dept of Labor's torment. They will make your employer dig up every record and go over them with a microscope. If you are owed money you will definitely get it. Also, if the employer tries in any way to retaliate against you then you can sue them for everything they have got.
Thanks, i just contacted labor department online via web form. Couldn't find any tel. numbers for complaint dept on their site.
